Class 6-A1 - 1st Semester - Week 8 - Test Scope

 

Review & Test Weeks – Weeks 9 & 10

Hello G6 Parents,

 

Our classes will have their first round of Exams starting next week for this semester.

 

Please note the scheduled test dates: 

Listening Exam

Monday, October 27th

Oral Presentation Exam

Tuesday, October 28th – Thursday, October 30th

English Written Exam

Tuesday, November 4th

 

The tests will cover the following:

 

LISTENING EXAM:

This exam will include vocabulary from weeks 1-7.

Use and trust your instincts. Stay focused and listen carefully to the teacher before selecting your answer. Some of the questions will try and trick you.

 

ORAL PRESENTATION TEST:

Put a group of pictures in the correct order to tell a story.

Make an accurate prediction about how the story will end (the resolution).

Tell a complete story using the pictures, clear details, good pronunciation, and logical order.

 

WRITTEN TEST: 

Review the Communication book, Reader’s and Writer’s Notebook, homework writing books, and quizzes and unit tests for weeks 1-7.

 

Focus will be on vocabulary from Weeks 1-7. Students should be familiar with definition, spelling, and using it in a sentence.

 

Reading Street 5.2 Stories will include Weslandia, Tripping Over the Lunch Lady, and Exploding Ants. Students should have a solid understanding of each story’s main plot points and be able to demonstrate comprehension of key events and ideas.

 

The following conventions will be assessed: Subject and Object pronouns; Pronouns and Antecedents; Possessive Pronouns; and Homophones

 

 

We have asked the students to bring home their books so they can prepare for the exams. Please make sure to study to ensure success on the exam. Good luck, and remember to ask questions in class if you need any clarifications!
