Hello G6 Parents,
Our classes will have their second round of Exams starting next week for this semester.
Please note the scheduled test dates:
Listening Exam Friday, May 22nd
Oral Presentation Exam Monday, May 18th – Thursday, May 21st
English Written Exam Thursday, May 28th
The tests will cover the following:
LISTENING EXAM:
This exam will include vocabulary from weeks 10-14.
Use and trust your instincts. Stay focused and listen carefully to the teacher before selecting your answer. Some of the questions will try and trick you.
ORAL PRESENTATION TEST:
Students will need to be prepared for a telephone discussion with a random partner. Students will need to be able to speak on a topic randomly chosen for 2-3 minutes with a partner. Topics will be given beforehand for preparation. During the discussion, students will be asked several questions, and will have to answer in complete sentences that fully answer the question.
WRITTEN TEST:
Review the Communication book, Reader’s and Writer’s Notebook, homework writing books, and quizzes and unit tests for weeks 10-14.
Focus will be on all vocabulary from Weeks 10-14. Students should be familiar with definition, spelling, and using it in a sentence.
Reading Street 5.2 Stories will include King Midas and the Golden Touch and The Hindenburg. Students should have a solid understanding of each story’s main plot points and be able to demonstrate comprehension of key events and ideas.
The following conventions will be assessed: Commas and Quotations & Quotation Marks
We have asked the students to bring home their books so they can prepare for the exams. Please make sure to study to ensure success on the exam. Good luck, and remember to ask questions in class if you need any clarifications!
